Description
In this painting I portray a winter night at the cottage because it has a warm feeling. There are birch trees and evergreens in the snow. I have a slushy pond that is gray from the dirt. I hope that you can get the same feeling from it. To me this is just a painting but I hope that some people see it in another light.

Hello, My name is Ryan and I am a grade six student at St. Philips Catholic School in Ottawa. I am a soccer player for West Ottawa Soccer Club and I am on the top team. I have been on the top team for my whole time being in the club. In my free time I enjoy playing video games and playing outside. This year is my last year at St. Philips so I am getting as engaged as I can. I have jobs such as a bus monitor and two other jobs. My favorite subjects at school are physical education and math. We also have been painting with Katerina Mertikas, an artist from Greece. To me, this was a challenge because I usually struggle as a painter, so I tried as much as I could. I have always been fascinated at how good some people are at painting and I think it’s just amazing. Through this artistic process, I realized that painting is fun and calming. After this two week painting process We have finished the paintings.
