This fun, one-on-one oil painting workshop series is specifically designed for the person who has always wanted to paint—but has been a bit too shy to give it a try! Starting with the absolute basics, we’ll go over the elements of art, what they mean, and how to apply them. We’ll also discuss the proper use, cleanup, care, and disposal of your tools and materials. You’ll learn about composition, color, glazing, texturing, knife painting, finishing and more. You’ll walk away with some important techniques and approaches under your belt. Discover how to look, see, and think like an artist! No prior art training is required, but more advanced painters will also benefit from this experience. Four 2-hour sessions will be held at Bethany, at a mutually convenient time. All you’ll need to bring is a stretched canvas (11x14 inches or larger) and some images (printed) in black and white and color, of what you’d like to paint. You also will have the option to bring along an object or two, if you’d prefer to develop a still life painting.
