Located in Valley Village, California, The Jim Herrick Swim School is the longest-standing, established swim school in the area.

The Herrick Method of swim instruction is an effective, progressive and nurturing method that has been perfected over the years and has helped cement our school as the premier swim school in the city of Los Angeles. Our method is based on core principles of trust, comfort and consistency and can be easily tailored by our instructors to be effective for children and adults of all learning styles and physical abilities, including special needs.

Recommended for infants to 2 years old, this 30-minute class is designed for parents and children to provide a positive, bonding, early water experience. These lessons are a great way to get started, as they will increase a child’s comfort level in the water and help establish trust between the child and our swim instructors, making the transition to private lessons much smoother. Parents are given helpful safety tips and techniques for handling their child in the water. Classes are offered weekly at varying times based upon demand and Swim School availability. In order to maintain the appropriate group size, we start taking reservations exactly one week in advance.
