A selection of beautifully crafted late-harvest and dessert wines. A perfect way to finish any evening. Includes one bottle each of the following.
Liquid Gold from Napa Valley: Dolce 2015 Napa Valley Late Harvest Wine - 1 Bottle
With a classic blend of late harvest Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, Dolce is the only American winery dedicated to producing a single late harvest wine. Dolce has brought forth a wine in every vintage, yet in small, unpredictable quantities; witness to the incredible difficulties presented every year in the effort to make Dolce.
Dolce is an extraordinary wine bred from a combination of sunshine, soil, fog, expertise, and dedication; a wondrous luxury, limited by nature to always being a gift of rarity.
The 2015 Dolce is fresh and fruitful, with aromas of orange, lime, and apricot along with sweet floral notes of honeysuckle. This Dolce lands on the palate with a coating and pleasing thickness that carries the citrus flavors long into the finish. Key lime pie comes to mind as bakery spices combine with a creamy texture and mouthwatering citrus flavors.

MERRYVALE ANTIGUA DESSERT WINE, 375ML - 1bottle
WINEMAKING
The template for what is now our Antigua Dessert Wine was initially crafted at Beaulieu Vineyards by iconic Napa Valley winemaker André Tchelistcheff in the 1960s. Antigua is produced using the solera process, a system of fractional blending over a number of vintages—in this case, over decades.
In the late 1980s, Merryvale purchased the last barrels of wine Tchelistcheff initially crafted which was made from vintages 1970 to 1983. Using these barrels as the base, Merryvale began crafting the later vintages that comprise the Antigua solera. The must was partially fermented, and fermentation was arrested by the addition of fine pot-still brandy. Merryvale made this wine from vintages 1992 through 1997. Today, our Antigua solera is an average of 35 years old.
TASTING NOTES
Golden/amber in color from its long aging in French oak, the wine is a complex combination of nuts and orange-peel aromas. Thick and rich in the mouth, the nuts and orange-peel theme continues from the entry through the long finish, highlighted by the many subtleties from the fine brandy and time in the barrel.

Fore Family Vineyards, 2013 Late Harvest Grenache/Syrah, Red Hills, Lake County, 375mL - 1 Bottle
This wine was created out of a desire to offer a rich, balanced wine with a port-like experience. Deep aromas of fresh tobacco leaf, dark sweet plums, a hint of vanilla, and spices. The wine is complex and delicious. The alcohol is balanced nicely by the lively acidity and the level of sweetness. Orange zest, bing cherries, allspice, and some vanilla. The tannins are smooth and even and linger on the finish.

The inception of Fore Family Vineyards started with a surprise, an opportunity, and a moment of brief insanity.
Around 1994, Jim Fore had been working as an engineer draftsman at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, CA designing piping schematics for submarines. When they announced the closure of the shipyard, he was given the chance to re-evaluate his career path, or move to Washington to work at their shipyard. Jim knew he wanted to be more connected to the land with his next path in life.
I came home one day and said "Honey, we are going to be farmers!"
Diane's response – "Farm WHAT?"
