PlumpJack Winery - 2019 Merlot, Napa Valley, 750mL - 1 Bottle

The 2019 vintage has a beautiful and complex nose – layers of black cherry, boysenberry, black currant, and fresh cut flowers come through first, followed by cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, and a touch of cocoa. The palate too has great depth and complexity – flavors of black cherries, muddled berries, dried herbs, and dark chocolate. The palate has a creamy texture and silky tannin complimented by a fresh, vibrant acidity that lends this wine great length.

Our Merlot is grown in two regions within the Napa Valley. Our Oak Knoll vineyard is nestled up to the Mayacamas Mountain Range on the west side of the valley. The mild climate and alluvial soils in this region lend this wine great balance and structure. The mild temperatures allow these grapes to develop bright aromatics and flavors, along with a beautiful natural acidity and elegance. The alluvial soils bring darker fruits to the nose and palate and give this wine its structure and concentration. Our Carneros vineyard has a cooler climate and these grapes bring an earthy, wet stone element to the nose along with beautiful fruit. The cooler temperatures help to preserve the color in the grape skins which not only contribute to the beauty of the wine swirling in your glass, but also adds depth and weight to the palate to perfectly balance the tannin.

Swanson Vineyards, 2019 Salon Select Alexis Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, 750mL - 1 Bottle

A pure cassis core lives at the center of this powerful Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine pours a dense deep purple in the glass, and as it does it gives up aromas of ripe plum, cassia bark and dark cherry. The tannins are bold and sumptuous, running throughout the wine and lasting on the palate many moments after the last sip. The palate flavors are dark fruits, slight wet clay note, some espresso bean and a touch of dark chocolate. All this is held together within a firm acidity, retaining freshness and structure.
