Description
The Journal of Henry D. Thoreau. Edited by Bradford Torrey and Francis H. Allen. With a foreword by Henry Seidel Canby. Houghton Mifflin Company, 1949. 14 volumes. Green cloth hardcovers. This set is based on the classic 1906 set of Thoreau's writings, focused JUST on his journal volumes. Enhanced in the 1940s with a foreword by Thoreau biographer Henry Seidel Canby. These ex-library volumes vary in condition, with average wear to the covers overall. Two or three have tears in the spine material, which are either taped or left loose. Pages are in good condition with little aging seen. Book plates appear in the front of most if not all volumes. If you don't already own a version of Thoreau's journals -- well, here's a remedy to your situation. Hope you have room for 14 volumes!
