Monica began her Positive Discipline Parenting journey when she was working as a professional nanny. Working with children is one of her many passions. However when she found herself struggling once she became a mother (with her first son) she set on a quest to find a better way. It was not until she herself took a course in Positive Parenting that she decided to make a change. She has always been an entrepreneur with her acclaimed business Mimi's Apothecary selling Fresh Organic Elderberry Syrup.

She has three young boys who are all very active and precocious. When she found herself in the throws of parenting three boys– complete with all of the yelling and temper tantrums you can imagine – Monica decided there MUST be a better way.

Her humble, but desperate realization ignited a fire to solve these power struggles in her home once and for all. After researching Adlerian Psychology and Positive Discipline, Monica put the knowledge into practice with her own family.

Astounded by the transformation she experienced with her three boys, Monica knew she had to share these methods with other parents. She never wanted another parent to feel as hopeless and desperate as she did in those early years which is why she created the Empower Your Kiddos parenting course.
