Join the Chair of HRS's Board of Trustees for a round of golf and lunch at the Claremont Country Club!
Peter Smith, Class of '78 and current Board Chair, would love to welcome your party of three to enjoy the exceptional CCC golf course with him, followed by lunch.
Originally founded as the Oakland Golf Club in 1897 at the site of what is now Children's Fairyland at Lake Merritt. The Club was moved to its current location in 1903, and the original course was designed by John "Pop" Smith originally of Carnoustie, Scotland. The course was redesigned in 1926 by famed golf course designer Alister MacKenzie. Claremont is a member of the Alister MacKenzie Society, a group of 14 clubs around the world that are committed to maintaining the original MacKenzie design and hosting a rotating annual competition.
Your golf and lunch outing will be set for a mutually agreeable date in 2023.
This will be a fantastic opportunity for you to experience a special course, and hear all the tales of HRS, past and present, on a course not normally open to the public.
