Description

This pair of beautiful but haunting paintings are called Niju Hibakusha, or Twice Burned. 


According to the artist, M. Kelly Nicholas - people who survived the atomic bombs in Japan are called hibakusha. People who suffered the effects of both bombings are known as niju hibakusha. These people were in Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, and within two days managed to reach Nagasaki. The title of both paintings is Niju Hibakusha - Twice Burned - to represent those who were burned by both atomic bombs.


Both pieces are ink on paper and 24" x 36" each framed.
