Reflection Prints

First graders reviewed warm and cool color families before painting the background for this print with watercolors which included a sunset sky on top for most students and a watery bottom half for all. After looking at how artist represent reflections in water, we created a printing plate of cities, villages, forests and the like. This plate was printed twice with one inking, so that when we printed our image over the watery half of our paper, it would appear more faded the way reflections often do.
