The symbol above "GETTONE" is a mintmark, consisting of 2-3 letters in a recessed shape. Four mintmarks were used, and some dates are known with multiple mintmarks, as well as many dates lacking a mintmark.  The token was made with brass between the years of 1976 to 1980 for Italian Pay Phones.  After being taken out of circulation and payphones ceasing to be used, these tokens have been sought after for their nostalgic collectibility.
