Integrity Study No. 3, 2022. Weaving, embroidery. 28 in x 22 in
Double-woven copper wire with copper inserts that was oxidized with green patina for several weeks, then embroidered directly onto canvas. Part of a series reflecting on the increasing fragility of democracy.
Each line of thread represents one voice.

Fil de cuivre doublement tissé avec des détails de cuivre, oxydé avec une patine verte sur plusieurs semaines, puis brodé sur la toile. Cette œuvre fait partie d'une série de réflexions sur la fragilité croissante de la démocratie.

Sayward weaves, knits and embroiders, usually with copper wire. A graduate of NSCAD, she has exhibited across Canada and sold her work to collectors in the US, Canada, and Europe. Her projects have been supported by the Ontario Arts Council, City of Ottawa, Craft Ontario, OAE and the Canada Council for the Arts.
Sayward tisse, tricote et brode, le plus souvent avec du fil de cuivre. Diplômée de NSCAD, elle a présenté son travail partout au Canada et vendu ses œuvres à des collections aux États-Unis, au Canada et en Europe. Ses projets sont soutenus par le Conseil des arts de l'Ontario, la ville d'Ottawa, Craft Ontario, le CAO et le Conseil des arts du Canada.
