Description

Using scrap fabric and a floor loom, the Maples students, with the help of FTCNS Parent Megan Hamm, created this gorgeous wall hanging. Megan taught the Maples how to use the floor loom and all about weaving.

From teacher Jill: As the kids were weaving they were very careful to follow the pattern over under over under, and would repeat that over and over as they weaved. We called the piece Over and Under the Warp We Go for that reason. Warp is what the strings are called that go vertical.

Megan is a professional weaver and has her own item up for bid in the auction: Megan Hamm Designs - Custom Woven Wall Hanging, Lot: 351, where she will create a custom wall hanging to your specs.

Materials and size: Approximately 13 inches wide x 36 inches long" made of scrap fabric on a rod, ready for hanging.

Created by: Teachers Toccara Taylor, Jill Victorine, Kirsten Ruckdeschel, and the Maples students with the help of Megan Hamm.
