Founded in 1847 by German immigrants, Stone Hill Winery found international acclaim, with our Norton declared “Best Wine of All Nations.” Cut down in our prime with Prohibition, the winery sat dormant for 45 years.

Alto Vineyards’ grapes have deep roots in tradition, family, and community. Following our first vintage in 1988, we founded the rebirth of the grape growing and winemaking industry in Southern Illinois. We serve our finely-crafted wines with artful events and entertainment at two spacious and vibrant tasting rooms in Alto Pass and Champaign. We have amassed over 1000 State, National, and International awards and are currently offering 22 premier wines.

Our goal at Pheasant Hollow Winery is to create a pleasant place for our guests to enjoy the finest grape and fruit wines in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We have increased our music events for our guest’s listening enjoyment while they sip our award winning wines.
