Handcrafted one-of-a-kind fused glass underwater scene in a 12”x12” black shadowbox frame. Each of the fish, pieces of coral, shells and the mermaid were created from multiple colors of powdered frit (ground glass) using a contemporary Pate de Verre process, then fired in a kiln. The background is a blue streaky opalescent glass. The final process was to place the individual elements on the background and fire the piece again.
