Wilma can be used indoors and out, however, if over time she is displayed in direct sun or wet weather it may compromise her beauty.

Artist Statement:
This is my fourth year participating in the Marblehead 4th of July Festival of Arts. Typically, I have entered work in mixed media events and the Festival of Cods. This year, the new event which is unnamed at this writing is similar to the "Festival of Cods" but will involve cut outs of Whales which sparked my creative interests and I wanted to participate. I chose to create my rendition of our great American flag in celebration of the 4th of July Marblehead Arts Festival. Like all my other work, I named my entry "Wilma the Whale".
Artist Biography:
For the past 17 years, Dawn Jenkins has resided in the Diamond District of Lynn, near Kings Beach. For years, she found it profitable and pleasurable to refurbish, repaint, repurpose, and readorn anything she could remake, renew, and resell. In 2017 while walking her Boxer dog Stella, on the beach, her latest mixed media adventure "Bedazzled Fish" was born. Since 2005, Dawn has created many original art concepts. She attended Newbury School of Fashion Design, worked in the clothing manufacturing business and retired from a 23-year career at the MBTA. Dawn displays her work in local galleries and is an artist member at the Marblehead Arts Association (MAA), the Galleries at Lynn Arts (GALA) and the Salem Arts Association(SAA). She chooses to make her work affordable and hopes her art will bring those joy to those who happen upon them.
