Artist Statement:
Since living in Marblehead, I have developed an affinity for capturing views of water and sky in oil paintings. This Cod project was an opportunity to capture all three in one colorful, magnificent sunset.
Artist Biography:
Marcia Hostetter has been involved in the visual arts for decades, most recently as an oil painter. Her art is most notable for its use of vibrant color; unique themes; and understanding of light and depth perception. Her work encourages the viewer to ponder the stories that emerge when they visually enters the painting and experiences all the possible scenarios. Marcia paints with other artists at Acorn Gallery and School of Art in Marblehead, Massachusetts. In 2019, she received two "Best of Show" awards for her oil paintings from the Marblehead Festival of Arts. While she teaches psychology at Salem State University, she's also taught the Psychology of Art and Creativity at Montserrat School of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts. Marcia administers the Wilhelmina Denning Jackson Art Scholarship for deserving students from Marblehead and Swampscott, Massachusetts who are majoring in art in college.

Special Instructions
Pick-up of purchased cods will be July 9 from 12-3, July 10 from 3-6, and July 11 from 3-6 at Sagan Harborside Sothebys 1 Essex St, Marblehead. The winning bidder will receive a notification email with information on pick-up time and location.
If winning bidder requires shipping, winner's credit card will be charged a separate $24.95 fee to cover USPS ground and handling. Shipping is available within the U.S. only and must be requested within 7 days after receipt of the notification email.
If winning bidder has not picked up their cod (or arranged shipping) within 30 days after the close of the auction, it will become the property of Marblehead Festival of Arts, Inc.
