Artist Statement:

I love block printing and was inspired by some wallpaper I saw featuring thistle, one of my favorite flowers. For the past few years, I have hand carved a block print to incorporate into the design of the cod fish. I’ve been wanting to add the thistle image to the collection of motifs I use in my hand painted pottery so I thought I’d start with the application on my cod. The design within the round head of the thistle flower is similar to the pattern fish scales. Plus it’s fun to say “Thistle Fish”

Stephanie's artwork and designs can be found on a variety of surfaces, including her line of ceramics, scarves, tissue paper, and sandwich wrap. She especially enjoys creating branding and identity for small businesses. Commissioned works are welcomed. She is often found at her local town studio, where she teaches classes and workshops to children and adults.
