Description
This truly unique Quipu was handmade in Peru by artist Alexandra Grau. The quipu is based on ancient Peruvian counting knots last used by the Incas in 1531, but dating back to 2500 BC. It is made from organic fibers of alpaca, vicuña, sheep's wool, and cotton, hand-treated and dyed rich colors using local Andrean seeds and other plants in the ancient technique.
