From Sarah: This piece was created using photos I had taken while plein aire painting on a March day, the snow being completely from imagination. The inspiration coming from a memory of driving to the theater on such a night. Having family members working in the magical world of the theater I have seen up close the hard work and dedication it takes to create the magic that we as an audience are privileged to witness.

Sara is a Philadelphia based artist working primarily in oil and pastel. Her focus is landscape and portraiture but also enjoys exploring other mediums and subjects.
Sara’s passion for the arts has been a lifelong pursuit. She began her formal training studying commercial art in secondary school and then continued her studies at the Philadelphia College of Art and Fleisher’s Art Memorial in Philadelphia. While raising her family Sara pursued a career in the interior design field. Throughout her career she honed her artistic abilities by studying and taking workshops with various instructors and institutions: Studio Incamminati in Philadelphia, Wayne Art Center and Wallingford Community Art Center to mention a few. After having success and a long career Sara retired in 2021 with plans to focus on her love of painting.
Sara is also a member of the Philadelphia Pastel Society and a long standing member of the Delaware Valley Art League where she serves on the board as workshop director.
Sara feels the most exciting aspect of art is attempting to interpret the beauty and wonder of our world.
