Cate Raphael is a professional artist. She loves walking the beaches and trails on both Nantucket and the Cape! She seeks inspiration from the peaceful, open spaces. This is where she likes to spend her time, absorbing the beauty and serenity of it all, then transferring that onto the canvas.

Her favorite medium is oil on canvas. Her style is uniquely her own, it could be called non-traditional realism.

Cate has been a year round resident of Nantucket since 1978. Her love for nature is reflected in her paintings.

Cate has been told by her collectors that her work gives them a sense of peace, serenity and joy!
