Artist Statement: "My paintings have a personal connection to me, as I paint what I love in my life. The forest I liven ear, and the sunsets over Lake Winnipesaukee on Summer evenings all move me to create. The painting I made for LRMHC has several personal expressions. The cat lattice represents Kiki, my cat. I love her very much and incorporate her into much of my work. The musical note leaves and wind in musical bars represent my love of piano and singing. The forest is my refuge, where I go for ideas and to calm down when the world overwhelms me. I always sketch out my ideas before I put them on canvas. My paintings use really easy-to-use mediums, such as acrylic paint and matte varnish. Bright colors and rainbows are added to my paintings to symbolize happiness, which I work with my therapist, Hope Dixon, to realize in my own life. This piece took about 10 hours."
