Small Things Add Up:

" A lot of us get discouraged when we see the distance between where we are and where we want to be, what we can do versus what we wish we could. If you're like me, all too often, you let this stop you from even getting started. I made this watercolor painting as a reminder to myself while preparing for my first-ever solo art show. I had no idea how I was going to make all the work needed for the show to be a success. But by opening night, I was able to pair SMALL THINGS ADD UP with two large works made up of lots of smaller ones, clear evidence that small things can come together into something much bigger and more impactful. Before the show, a friend saw this painting and asked if I would make a print for her. And that's how this print came about." 

This is an unframed, full-color print of my original watercolor, printed by an independent local shop on eco-friendly paper. It measures 8x10 inches (a standard size for framing).

"Life gets hard. You have resilience, skills, past experience to draw from. People tell you, "You've got this." But not all challenges can be overcome alone. For those, you need your loved ones: family, friends, chosen family, neighbors; everyone who offers support, encouragement, resources, or something else to help you through. So many people to help hold you up. I made this watercolor painting as a reminder to myself, but I was also thinking of some dear and intrepid friends. They're going through something that's wonderful and exciting... but some things just require the proverbial village. I wanted them to remember that in the times when chaos threatened to take over. And that's how this print came about."
