Cork fabric is a natural fabric produced from thin cork shaving obtained directly from the bark of the cork oak tree. Much of the production is hand crafted. The cork oak tree has the ability to regenerate its bark. This allows for the removal of the bark (the cork) without causing any damage to the tree itself. Once the cork oak tree is harvested, it will absorb 5 times more carbon dioxide and it can be harvested 8 to 10 years from the same tree for up to 200 years. Cork leather is as durable as leather and as versatile as fabric. The material is environmentally friendly, hypoallergenic, water resistant, stain resistant, antimicrobial, lightweight and easy to clean.

The woven fabric is originally from Indonesia. It’s hand-woven fabric made by a local community artist from Lombok Island.
