• Brooks Calbert Robinson Jr. is a former American professional baseball player born on May 18, 1937. He spent his entire 23-year major league career playing for the Baltimore Orioles from 1955 to 1977. Despite being a natural left-hander, he batted and threw right-handed.


• Robinson earned nicknames such as "The Human Vacuum Cleaner" and "Mr. Hoover" due to his exceptional skills as a defensive third baseman. In fact, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest third basemen in major league history. Robinson's impressive achievements include winning 16 consecutive Gold Glove Awards, tied with pitcher Jim Kaat as the second-most all-time for any player at any position.


• In recognition of his outstanding career, Robinson was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983. His legacy continues to inspire and influence aspiring baseball players and fans alike.
