Liston was a dedicated educator for over 40 years with a commitment to his students and a passion for his community that is unmatched. He prioritized community outreach in his own classrooms.

Liston partnered with Save the Children Foundation and Kettering Hospital on class projects. Through these projects the students learned the importance of creative expression, giving back, and opening up to other life experiences.

He had an illustrious career which included President of Dayton Society of Painters and Sculptors, President of the Ohio Art Association and Chair of the Board of Directors for First Day Federal Credit Union.

He and his wife Jane were long-time supporters of the Otterbein Alumni Association, always looking for a way to give back.
