The Rosemary class came together to create this unique windchime. Families dug through their piggy banks, drawers and pockets to find all their forgotten pennies. Then we looked through each one to find those minted in the years when that had the highest copper content including pennies from WWII era that were made from spent copper shell case used for ammunition. Anvils and sledge hammers were collected from the school community to pound and transform each of these pennies back into shining copper discs.

Copper has long been revered as a sacred metal, for its spiritual and metaphysical properties and it is associated with the planet Venus. It has been used to promote healing, to bring balance, harmony and alignment to divine energies.

Combined with donated pieces of driftwood, gemstones, glass and sacred energetic symbols and numbers.

This beautiful windchime sings and reflects the soul and transformative power of the Live Oak community.
