Sarah Wesson is dedicated to exploring, primarily in oils, the way light transforms objects rendered in her landscapes and domestic still-lives. Having grown up near the sea, light in all seasons left an indelible impression.

Sarah has painted extensively in Italy, Vermont and Maine. For a decade, she exhibited and sold her paintings from her studio in downtown Middlebury. She continues to exhibit in various galleries around the state. She has taught painting at the Middlebury Studio School, curated art shows,  and now works out of her home studio in Ripton as well as from the front seat of her car. β€œIn lieu of an easel, I clamp a piece of Masonite to the steering wheel, push the seat back, spread an old towel on my lap, lay my palette over the towel, and paint in all kinds of weather.” Sarah studied painting at The Art Students League in NYC and is represented by Main Street Gallery in Manasquan, NJ.
