Margo Lemieux has always been an artist. Her career has included such paths as children's book illustrator, photo stylist, t-shirt artist, publication designer, university professor, handmade artist books, and recently art ambassador, when she coordinated an exhibit of Boston Printmakers prints at the DaNang Fine Arts Museum in Vietnam. She is a member of Full Tilt Print Studio in Dedham, MA.
"Vaughan House" one of the oldest houses on Monhegan Island, has been depicted by such other artists as Jamie Wyeth & Rockwell Kent. This etching catches the early morning sun brightening the pile of lobster pots at the entrance to Swim Beach and was printed from a metal plate using traditional methods similar to those used by Rembrandt. While the rugged waves of the Atlantic are not visible in this part of the seaside village, its effects are evident in the wild grass and stunted trees.
