Roberta and Robert Ayotte moved to Center Sandwich, NH in 1967. Roberta holds a BFA from RISD in Textile Design and Robert holds a BFA from RISD in Industrial Design. They opened "Ayottes' Designery, Handweaving and Much More," a full-time weaving studio and gift shop they've operated over 25 years. They wrote and published Handweaving with Robert and Roberta, a sixteen book home study course that sold worldwide. Roberta has created thousands of yards of fabric during her career and it's reported she still keeps 2 looms going in her AZ home.
Created in the late 1980s/early 1990s, the fabric was designed to be fashioned into a long skirt, jumper or 2-piece outfit. It could also be a lovely shawl or throw.
