After a successful career of working closely with designers, Bill Clark keeps his studio outside of Providence, RI, where he works as a professional photographer and calligrapher. In the spring of 2023, the AAM hosted eight fine art photographs by Clark in their Community Gallery. Venues regularly showing the artworks of this artist are the Griffin Photography Museum and the RI Center for Creative Photography, among others.

"Regrets" is part of a series that was photographed as a single shot, within a fraction of a second, with minimal adjustments made in the digital darkroom. In the dark of night, the shutter is open, as the artist uses rehearsed gestures with the camera in hand. In this way, the camera becomes the pen, and light the ink, to make "drawings" of what stands before the lens. This approach is reflective of the Greek word "photo-graphy," meaning "light-drawing."
