Description
Collage
19.5" x 19.5" x 2"
Marnie Jain is a Boston-based artist who works primarily in the medium of collage. Using magazine cuttings of color as her paint she creates images and scenes of her own imagining. She exhibited her work in the Community Gallery at the AAM during the month of Sept 2022. She also had a solo exhibit at the Jamaica Plain Branch Library last year.
This abstract represents the dialogue between colors. It began with browns and reds. Incomplete, it was set aside for a time until a friend visited Marnie's studio and nonchalantly tossed down a scrap of green paper. The piece suddenly came alive and was finished in an inspired flurry of cutting and gluing. "The Conversation," speaks to the change in dynamics that can occur with the addition of a single color.
