Description

"Milo Bowl" is a beautiful classically-shaped milo bowl. From an ancient milo tree which grew in Kekaha, woodworker Ray Nitta turned this 6" x 2" bowl in his Kekaha woodshop. Milo's fine grain, so smooth and dense to the touch, invites one to gently pick the bowl up and enjoy its luxurious feel. This piece could be used decoratively or as a functional piece.

The heart of the master is felt in every stroke onto the wood.

Ray Nitta is a wood craftsman and artisan residing in Kekaha, Kauai. An erstwhile teacher, he is still active in enrichment programs at various schools on the west side of the island. He has exhibited his work internationally. Ray is a board member of Lawai International Center.

There is a wonderful article about Westside Woodworks by Margaret A. Haapoja in the January 6, 2014 issue of Green Magazine Hawaii.
