Description
From a pruned branch of a stately macadamia nut tree which thrives in Kalaheo on Dave and Cathy Reando's property, woodworker Ray has turned a beautiful 5 3/4" x 3" bowl. Macadamia wood has a distinctive and intriguing grain structure. Picture it being used as a pupu bowl filled with macadamia nuts. Its mesmerizing pattern will be a welcomed addition to any gathering.This piece could be used decoratively or as a functional piece.
The heart of the master is felt in every stroke onto the wood.
Ray Nitta is a wood craftsman and artisan residing in Kekaha, Kauai. An erstwhile teacher, he is still active in enrichment programs at various schools on the west side of the island. He has exhibited his work internationally. Ray is a board member of Lawai International Center.
