Artist Colleen Ogino intricately depicts a Kaua'i maile lau li'i lei draped around a beautiful celadon glazed stoneware vase. Maile lei hold special significance and are presented on auspicious occasions. An honor to receive, recipients often keep the lei when dried to continue enjoying the subtle, gentle sweet scent of this lei for a long time to come. This piece could be used decoratively or as a functional piece. Alone the vase is a welcoming addition to any room signifying good fortune. Holding fresh flowers, the vase becomes a shining felicitous centerpiece.

Colleen Ogino resides in Lihue and teaches ceramic arts at KCC.
