"Threshold 2021" by Glen Moriwaki, professor emeritus at San Francisco City College's Art Department, signifies welcome to all. The Buddha achieved enlightenment while sitting under a Bodhi Tree in Bodh Gaya, India. Started purportedly by a cutting from the original tree in India, this leaf is from a tree found in Kekaha, Kaua'i. The Bodhi leaf is mounted on joss paper and acrylic on canvas, and is framed in Koa wood. Upon viewing, the artwork's pleasing effect welcomes peace and serenity.
This piece measures 10 1/2" x 13 1/2" x 2 1/4".
