Description

Kathleen Bryan Handcrafted Hanging Raku 10"x10" Decoration

This gorgeous hanging decoration is handcrafted Raku pottery created by Kathleen Bryan, measuring 10" wide and 10" in height. The artist has used a variety of techniques to create this orb, including hand-building, glazing, and firing. The raku pottery process is unpredictable, and each piece is truly one-of-a-kind. This orb is no exception, with its unique patterns and textures.

Imagine this orb hanging in your home, casting its magical glow over your space. It would be a conversation starter and a focal point in any room. It is also a reminder of the beauty of nature and the power of art.

Raku firing is an ancient Japanese ceramics technique that has been used for many centuries to create a very unique finish to wares. This process creates a unique and unpredictable glaze that can range in color from black to white to metallic.

Kathy Bryan, a retired judge from San Bernadino County, California, is now living again in Southern California after living 4 years on Kauai. She became interested in pottery as a means of stress relief while she was on the bench. Over the next ten years, Kathy has created beautiful and unique pieces.

Love of seeing art in people's homes motivates Kathy into creating beautiful art pieces. She is a member of several art associations, and has exhibited her work throughout southern California. Her work can be found at Puuwai Hao Kila Gallery in Hanapepe, Hawaii, and at the Redlands Art Association in Redlands, California.

Kathy and her husband, Paul Forges, have been part of the creation of the Hall of Compassion from the beginning, from opening crates, to organizing leftover pieces and other rubbish, to washing the exterior walls with a washcloth, to sanding and general construction clean up. They continue to be a very active part of the hall, yet Kathy still wanted to contribute something more for the Center.
