At Woods of Kauai, we specialize in beautifully designed cutting boards made from Kauai’s bounty of exotic hardwood. All hardwoods used are gathered through local suppliers on Kauai. The wood is ecologically harvested from trees that have naturally fallen, need removal, or are unhealthy. The different hardwoods we use to create our one-of-a kind pieces are mainly: Koa, Mango, Robusta, and Monkey Pod, but we also use any other exotic hardwoods nature shares with us on Kauai.
Our entire collection is made from exotic hardwoods that are:
Grown on Kauai
Ecologically Harvested on Kauai
Hand Crafted on Kauai
We hope you enjoy the final product, and also the new life of the trees.
Aloha Aina… Love of the Land
The Wood Small Cutting Board is 8”x 15”x ½” rectangular cutting board. It has a smooth surface and is finished with a light oil. It is perfect for chopping vegetables, slicing meat, and carving bread. It can also be used as a serving board for cheese, charcuterie, and other appetizers.
Each cutting board from Woods of Kauai is unique and one-of-a-kind. The wood is carefully selected and matched to create a board that is both beautiful and functional. The boards are then hand-crafted by skilled artisans using traditional woodworking techniques.
To care for your Woods of Kauai cutting board:
Hand wash with warm water and mild soap.
Dry immediately with a clean towel.
Avoid putting the cutting board in the dishwasher or soaking it in water.
Apply a food-safe cutting board oil regularly to keep the wood hydrated and protected (You can reapply mineral oil every few months to extend the life of the board. We use Howard brand food-grade mineral oil, or their mineral oil/beeswax combination. Both work great and can be found on Amazon or most hardware stores.)
Ron Wilson is a gracious and dedicated volunteer for Lawai International Center. He cleans the Hall of Compassion, the land of Lawai and helps at the Center’s office.
