This piece was created by artist Tom Hopkins in 2008.
Montreal artist Tom Hopkins, a fixture in the local arts community, died suddenly on Sunday, January 23, 2011. Hopkins, 66, was world-renowned for his landscapes and still-lives and served as both mentor and teacher to numerous other Montreal artists.
Born in Summerside, P.E.I., Hopkins studied art at Mount Allison University and completed his Master of Fine Arts degree at Concordia University, where he taught from 1983 to 1997. He had also taught at McGill University as well as at workshops throughout Canada and the U.S. Hopkins’ paintings are in public and private collections around the world.
