Explore the capabilities of your voice during a one-hour online coaching session with Santa Barbara-based vocalist and pedagogue, mica basilici. Recent performances include Carmen (Cigarette Girl) with Opera Santa Barbara, Once (Girl) with Out of the Box Theatre Company, and The Revels Equinox Concert and Harbor Sing.

As the Music Director for The Revels, mica is leading the choruses for The Revels: A Winter Solstice Celebration - Tales from Ellis Island coming up this December 2023.

mica also works as a soprano section leader with the Santa Barbara Choral Society, and helps develop young voices as a Choral Conductor with the Music Academy's Sing! program.

As a cross-over vocalist, mica is a proponent of functional, body-based singing, which allows the voice and body to align across various styles. From folk songs to European classical music to contemporary commercial music, mica helps singers from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels to navigate their unique vocal mechanism.

mica has also worked in Admissions at Berklee College of Music, and as the Assistant Director of the Sweetwater Academy of Music and Technology.

mica earned a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Ball State University, and a professional certificate in Somatic Voicework: the LoVetri Method(tm) through Baldwin Wallace University; and they are currently pursuing a Master of Education in Global Perspectives: Teaching, Curriculum, and Learning Environments from Boston College.
