Description
From the Wittenkellar family, these are three incredible wines to share.
1. 2019 Syrah, Richards Vineyard - $150
The daylight at the vineyard is truncated by late sunrises and early sunsets due to its position between the Sonoma Mountain Range and the Mayacamas. This results in an extended growing season which produces an incredibly distinct nose and layered palate.
Picked the third week of September, the wine is driven by its extraordinary nose of sage, lavender and gun oil. The tannins provide incredible texture and framing for a precise palate that balances just the right amount of freshness and weight. This is a beautiful wine and certainly cellar-worthy.

2. 2019 Syrah, Carneros, Hyde Vineyard - $75
Enjoying the whole-cluster influences of the 2018, the 2019 was fermented separately as two lots of 50% whole cluster and 100% whole cluster, a combined equivalent of 80% whole cluster.
Violets and blackberry drive this beautiful wine’s aromatics. Flavors of dark fruit with layers of complexity balances the naturally higher acid of the site, with weight and texture producing a very alluring wine.
94 points - James Suckling
3. 2020 Chardonnay, Carneros, Hyde Vineyard - $74
At 2.2 tons per acre for the Robert Young selection (a reduction of nearly 33%) it provides density and concentration and rich flavors of apple and pear. The Musqué selection drives the wine aromatically with honeysuckle, apricot, and ripe peach. The Musqué lot does not go through malolactic fermentation, electing rather to preserve the graceful palate driven by purity and minerality.
There is equilibrium in the final blend driving to a delightful, mineral finish. The wine is still quite young and will gain weight with a year or more in bottle. A beautifully poised Chardonnay that will age gracefully for years to come.
