Established in 1932, the Grout Museum District is widely acknowledged as one of the cornerstones of culture in Northeast Iowa. The Grout Museum District provides understanding of the world through history and science. Accredited by the American Association of Museums, three of the five Grout Museum District distinct properties include:
- Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum: honors the service and sacrifice of all Iowa veterans from the Civil War to present.
- Grout Museum of History & Science: Permanent and continually changing exhibitions of area history, regional flora and fauna.
- Carl A. & Peggy J. Bluedorn Science Imaginarium: This hands-on science center makes learning scientific principles fun through interactive exhibits and formal demonstrations.
