Description
At Modernism Museum Mount Dora we explore the work of artists who found new expressive possibilities in the field of functional objects. We follow these progressive figures – the evolving DNA of their ideas – beginning with Wharton Esherick, the “Dean of American Craftsmen,” whose work has inspired several generations of designers and makers. Of particular prominence within the collection are the American artists George Nakashima and Wendell Castle, and the work of the radical group Memphis, which was based in Milan, Italy.
We invite you to explore our unique collection, and experience modernism in a way you won’t find anywhere else.
