Taught by The Hero Workshop staff. Introduction to Dungeons and Dragons is an interactive storytelling workshop for Heroes in grades 3-5. Heroes will join a group for a weekly appointment with adventure, where one of our professional narrators (called a Dungeon Master) will present scenarios to the group, and together they decide what happens next in the story. Every participant will take on the role of a hero in a story, where we will explore concepts such as what it means to be a Hero, cooperative storytelling, encounter design, and narrative. Big moments in the story are decided by random chance with a roll of the dice. It’s fun, a great way to ignite the imagination, and we will touch on many educational aspects as part of our adventures including basic math, algebra, puzzle solving, teamwork and collaboration, and of course storytelling.

Sessions are eight weeks and 50 minutes.
