In 1992, a special one-night event called Circus for Life celebrated the 10th anniversary of Gay Men's Health Crisis by bringing together the circus and Broadway at Madison Square Garden. The event featured the exuberant energy of Ringling Brothers circus along with performances by stars such as Joel Grey, Daisy Eagan, Linda Lavin, Patti LuPone, and the Gay Men's Chorus.

Grey, one of the event's participants, generously donated an extremely rare Circus for Life jacket adorned with colorful embroidery of the night's poster image. This unique jacket has been autographed by entertinment royalty Grey.
