The original Broadway production of the beloved, groundbreaking musical La Cage aux Folles opened on August 21, 1983, at Broadways PalaceTheatre. La Cage went on to win six Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Original Score for Jerry Herman, Best Direction of a Musical for Arthur Laurents, Best Book of Musical for Harvey Fierstein, Best Actor in a Musical for George Hearn and Best Costume Design for Theoni V. Aldredge. La Cage aux Folles ran for more than four years thrilling audiences on Broadway for 1,761 performances.

Now for you, the ultimate La Cage fan, are these one-of-a-kind and rare treasures to make this a splendid 40th Anniversary:

  • La Collage aux Folles, a lovingly handcrafted creation that was the treasured gift presented to La Cage's famed librettist Harvey Fierstein from the entire cast on opening night in 1983. It is a three-dimensional cutout of the original La Cage poster with photo cutouts of the original cast and adored with feathers from one of George Hearn's ZaZa gowns. It is autographed by the entire original cast of La Cage aux Folles. No other exists.

  • La Cage aux Folles Playbill, an original 1983 Playbill featuring the entire original opening night cast.

  • Premiere edition La Cage souvenir program, a rare, deluxe edition only issued for the audience of La Cage's opening night. Its a gorgeous, 30-page, full-color extravaganza that features fold-outs, a pop-up centerfold and a "Dress Your Own Cagelle" paper doll; all kept in pristine condition over the past 40 years in its original elegant black La Cage sleeve

  • The La Cage LP original cast recording, with the sleeve signed by the shows creative team, Jerry Herman and Harvey Fierstein - The Collaborationists - as they liked to refer to each other and to quote a line from Fierstein's La Cage

  • La Cage crystal cube by Tiffany & Co, an elegant and beautiful 2.5" x 2.5" square crystal paperweight given as the opening night gift to the entire La Cage company by the show's producer, Allan Carr. Now a rare collectors item.
