Description

Madame Hanae Mori's distinguished career as a world famous fashion designer began with her first studio in Tokyo in 1951. She had already found great success as a costume designer for Japan's movie industry, when a visit to Paris inspired her to reclaim her dream of becoming a celebrated international fashion designer.

For Barbie doll, Madame Mori has chosen one of her favorite designs from her Haute Couture Collection for this 1999 edition.

Provocative black lace with golden trim covers a fitted, pink crepe evening dress that dramatically flares at the bottom. Beautiful butterflies, a classic icon of Madame Mori, barely nestle against the shoulders of the gown. Black crystal beads and satin ribbons embellish the outer bodice. Her chestnut hair is upswept and is also adorned with pink butterflies and a black satin bow. Accenting this enticing look is a pale pink taffeta stole.
