Chattanooga Ballet is recognized as one of Tennessee's leading dance education organizations.

Founded in 1973, the School principally focuses on the instruction and training of dancers in classical ballet with offerings in ballet technique, pointe and variations. Supplemental classes are offered in Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, Yoga, Pilates, Jazz and Modern technique. Former students have gone on to perform professionally in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Birmingham, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.

Begun in 1980, the Company is composed of professional dancers and advanced level students. The Company performs both classical and contemporary works and seeks to enhance the quality of dance in our region through the commissioning of new works in ballet, jazz and modern dance. The Company presents an annual production of "The Nutcracker" with the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera Orchestra, a choreographer's concert, classical ballets, lecture demonstrations and school performances.
