Cassava is a beloved Californian fare neighborhood restaurant by a husband and wife team, Chef Kristoffer Toliao and Yuka Ioroi. It originally opened on March 5, 2012 in the Outer Richmond, starting as an 8 seat cafe, moon-lighting as a pop-up  menu restaurant, with a "no-fire" kitchen utilizing only electric equipment and induction burners.

In October 2022, Cassava relocated to its current location in North Beach, expanding the seating capacity by 3 times with a new kitchen with fire, and a beautiful "blue cheese" marble bar. With the signature 3 course prix fixe menu dinner, fun a la carte selection including Kris's burger and fried chicken for lunch and dinner, Cassava is quickly becoming North Beach's new favorite place to dine any time of the day.
