Three French Hens

Farm Fatales raises several breeds of rare and unusual chickens on Irish Ridge, just south of Half Moon Bay , including Poule de Marans, chickens known and prized for their deep dark brown eggs. Start a backyard flock, or replace your older hens with 3 Cuckoo Marans pullets (cuckoo=speckled, in this case salt & pepper), or add an Aracana for color - they lay a lovely blue egg. This group of girlies hatched between March 30 and February 2, and will be laying beautiful eggs of you by late May, early June. Pick them up at Farm Fatales by the end of April, so they have time to acclimate to their new coop before they start laying!
